Spitz (pluralized spitzes or Spitzen) are a type of domestic dog as opposed to a specific breed. The exact origin of the Spitz type is unknown, though most originate from Siberia.
Spitz types are thick furred dogs, often carrying dense undercoats and incredibly fluffy, curled (or drooping) tails. Their ears tend to be on the small side, though pointed and upright, and they often carry almond shaped eyes. Their snouts also tend to be pointed, and hold strong jaws.
